All about Mp3CoolPlay-Xtreme Wat is Mp3CoolPlay-X? Mp3CoolPlay-X is a media player/encoder capable of playing/encoding various types of music file formats, the build-in formats include: MPEG music files: .mp3, .mp2, .mp1 Mp3CoolPlay-X can also play additional formats by using decoder plugins. Mp3CoolPlay-X is able to decode music to 32-bit sample data, this greatly enhances the audio quality and does not as easy distort DSP effects as 16-bit tends to do. Offcourse, Mp3CoolPlay-X can also be configured to play in 16-bit mode. This way it also supports older sound cards as well, Mp3CoolPlay-X auto detects if the soundcard does support 32-bit output. Aldough Mp3CoolPlay-X is small in size, it has many features build in. Some nice features are a 32-bit DSP effects engine, playlist library and STDIN encoder support, using encoders you are able to convert supported files to any other encoder supported format. This also includes CD-Ripping and fomat to format encoding. How did it started, and why? It all started with Mp3CoolPlay, the version before the actual Xtreme edition. I started making Mp3CoolPlay somewhere back in 1996, just because the fact I did not like the other players that where already available on the web. The first version was not more than a plain form with just some buttons, the first versions of Mp3CoolPlay where not available on the internet just because they where to ugly when compared to others. The other problem was that I did not have an internet connection, and thus was unable to put it online myself. This changed when I made a nice skin and gave it much more functionality. The first version of Mp3CoolPlay was available for download somewhere in 1998, the same year when I got an internet connection and was able to put it online. In the meantime, Mp3CoolPlay's standard skin had already changed 3 times. While it was online, the standard skin changed one more time, the last big change was for Mp3CoolPlay-X. The Mp3CoolPlay-X skin has not been changed anymore since the launch of it. This offcourse excludes some very little changes made to the skin. What has Mp3CoolPlay-X to offer? Mp3CoolPlay-Xtreme is loaded with nice functions and features to make you're music experience better than you may expect of such a small player, for example it is very easy to setup and configure to your own wishes. It includes a playlist library, easy to use interface, skin changing, plugins, wav converter and a full blown 32-bit DSP engine and decoder. Want to see it yourself?
